How to Get Your Real Estate License:
The state of Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing requires that all real estate salespeople be licensed. Prior to issuing the license, applicants are tested to measure their competence in the areas of Real Property Law, Financing, Marketing and Appraisal as they apply to real estate. In order to prepare for the salesperson’s exam, a minimum of 72 hours of certifiable education must be demonstrated.
Steps for receiving your license are:
- Complete required real estate pre-license education.
- Pass the state exam.
- Submit application to the DSPS.
The application can be submitted online through the DSPS Online Licensure Application System (OLAS), which reduces the processing time or by mailing a printed copy of the application, including proof of completed education or credentials.
